Hyundai Verna Achieves 5-Star Global NCAP Safety Rating
In a recent round of crash tests conducted by Global NCAP under the Safer Cars for India program, the Hyundai Verna has achieved a full 5-star safety rating. This marks the first time a Hyundai model has received a 5-star rating from Global NCAP.
The tested model was manufactured in India for the Indian market and came equipped with Notably, the Verna is among the last few cars to be tested under the Safer Cars for India program, as Bharat NCAP took over crash testing responsibilities for the Indian market from October 1.Here's a breakdown of the safety ratings:
Adult Occupant Protection:
The Verna scored 28.18 points out of 34 possible. It offered good protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck in the frontal impact test, although the driver’s chest protection was marginal. Passenger chest protection was rated good. Driver’s and passenger’s knees showed marginal protection

.Child Occupant Protection:
The Verna scored 42 points out of 49 possible. It received a full score for the Child Restraint System (CRS) installation. It also provided full side impact protection for the child occupants.It's worth noting that the bodyshell integrity was rated as unstable in the adult occupant protection test.This achievement further underscores Hyundai's commitment to safety and sets a new standard for their models in terms of crashworthiness.
